            My initial reaction to recognizing the themes of colors that play into stereotypes was surprised. Magazi nes like Cosmopolitan and  GQ  are great examples of this.  Cosmopolitan   played into the stereotype of women loving pink and doing “girly” things. The ir   cover page displayed this through their  color scheme of white and pink  text,   and they have statements about heels, nails, and other things that fit into the stereotype of women.  GQ ’s cover page has   white  and blue text with   very straightforward statements. These play into the stereotype of men.  They use these stereotypes and  celebrities  to  target a certain audience . Magazines that do this are Men’s Journal and  Vogue. Men’s Journal uses a photo of  celebrity  Patrick  Dempsey to attract  men that can be from age 20-60. Vogue magazine has Rhianna on the cover, who...

            I have never realized the importance of opening scenes. After watching these clips,  I noticed how the music amplified what was on the screen and  vice versa. I noticed the themes that helped define the subject of the movie . This can be seen in the title sequence of “Saturday Night Fever”.  During the sequence, there is a theme of red, which is seen in the lettering and the main characters outfit.  This portrays the character as being very flashy and bold. This gives the viewer an idea of how this character lives his life and  how he acts.  An example of how music affects what the viewer is seeing is seen in “Jaws”.  In “Jaws”, the beginning is very happy and as the opening continues, the music intensifies and foreshadows that something bad is about to happ en. The intensifying music m akes the viewer fill with suspense and gets them ready for the rest of the movie.          ...
